About The Victorian Tap
The Victorian Tap stands on the corner of Battle Hill and Eastgate in the centre of Hexham, a traditional Victorian pub full of character and steeped in local history. Inside, an L-shaped tap room centres on a bar surrounded by wood floors, open fires and local memorabilia that reflects the town's heritage. Its position in the heart of a town frequently praised as one of the happiest places to live in Britain makes it a convenient and characterful stop for both residents and visitors.
The bar is a serious real-ale destination, displaying six cask ale wickets. Beyond the drinking, the pub offers accommodation upstairs across deluxe, standard and twin rooms, each fitted with a television, seating area and tea and coffee facilities. A covered rear seating area provides sheltered outdoor space for those who wish to sit out. The mix of cask ales, open fires and guest rooms gives it the feel of a traditional town-centre inn.
