Quiz Nights in Hexham
Wednesday pub quizzes, smartphone-based speed quizzing, and the Great Tyne Valley Pub Quiz — where to test your knowledge in Hexham.
If you enjoy a pub quiz, Hexham has you covered. Several pubs in the town run regular quiz nights.
Coach and Horses
The Coach and Horses on Priestpopple runs SpeedQuizzing smartphone pub quizzes, using the popular app-based format where teams answer questions on their phones in real time. Entry is £2 per player, teams are a maximum of four people, and the minimum age is 12.
Dipton Mill Inn
The Dipton Mill Inn on Dipton Mill Road hosts a quiz every Wednesday evening at 8pm. It is described as fun rather than fiercely competitive, and all are welcome. Given the pub's warm atmosphere — real fires, a bar billiards table, Hexhamshire ales on tap — a Wednesday quiz here makes for an excellent midweek evening out.
Victorian Tap
The Victorian Tap also hosts a Wednesday night quiz. The pub has long been a live-music and entertainment venue in Hexham, and its quiz night is a regular fixture.
The Great Tyne Valley Pub Quiz
Beyond the regular weekly offerings, the area gained its own inter-pub quiz competition: the Great Tyne Valley Pub Quiz, a fundraising event for Tynedale Hospice at Home. Pubs across west Northumberland hosted qualifying rounds, with a grand final at Tynedale RFC. Worth watching for in future years.
