Hexham Golf Club, established in 1892, is a parkland course at Spital Park on the edge of the town, around twenty minutes west of Newcastle. It describes itself as a friendly club where new members and guests are always made to feel welcome, offering a rounded social experience alongside the golf. The clubhouse occupies a historic listed estate house, with several lounges, a Spike Bar and a restaurant overlooking the putting green and the 18th hole.

Regarded as one of the region's finest courses, it plays year-round and is noted for challenging opening and closing holes that can shape a round. Practice facilities include a purpose-built short-game area, a large putting green and an indoor swing studio with fitting technology. The club offers a range of membership categories covering mixed, senior, gents, ladies and junior sections, and welcomes visitors and societies, who can book tee times online.
