Hextol Tans
Hexham's only exclusively vegetarian and vegan cafe, run by The Hextol Foundation as a social enterprise providing work placements for people with learning difficulties and mental health needs. Serves fresh soups, light lunches, and homemade cakes.
About Hextol Tans
Hextol Tans is a cafe in central Hexham run by The Hextol Foundation, a local social enterprise. Rather than operating purely as a commercial coffee shop, it provides supported work placements for people who have learning differences, mental health needs, or both, giving beneficiaries genuine experience in a real working environment. The cafe is one of several Hextol ventures, which also span gardening, catering, warehousing and pack-and-post services, all built around the same supportive mission.
As a working cafe it serves fresh, homemade food including soups, light lunches and homemade cakes, and its charitable purpose means custom directly supports the Foundation's work in the community. The blend of a friendly, community-minded setting and a clear social aim makes it a distinctive stop in Hexham, where visitors can enjoy a straightforward cafe meal while backing a local charity that helps people into meaningful work.
