About Hexham FC

Hexham FC is the town's main grassroots football club and one of the largest in West Northumberland, with around 22 teams and more than 200 playing members. Run entirely by volunteers and holding FA Charter Standard community status, the club provides coaching, training and competitive teams for boys and girls from Under 7s all the way through to senior football. Its coaches are FA qualified, and the club plays in distinctive green and white hooped shirts with green shorts and socks. Younger children start in small-sided mini-soccer before progressing to eleven-a-side as they get older.

The club's age-group teams, often entered under the Hexham Juniors name, compete in the Northumberland Football League, while its senior side plays in the Northern Football Alliance. Home matches and training take place around the town, including at Dukeshouse Wood. As a genuinely open community club, Hexham FC welcomes new players, volunteers and coaches of all abilities, and has worked to grow the girls' game locally through dedicated funding and age-group sides. For most young footballers in Hexham and the surrounding Tyne Valley villages, it is the first place they pull on a shirt.
