Fratelli

Italian and Sardinian restaurant and pizzeria opening in the former Hexham Courant offices on Beaumont Street, opposite Hexham Abbey, from the family behind Fratelli in Ponteland.

About Fratelli

Fratelli is an Italian and Sardinian restaurant and pizzeria set to open in the former Hexham Courant offices at 8 Beaumont Street, directly opposite Hexham Abbey and overlooking the Sele. It is a new, smaller sister to the long-established Fratelli in Ponteland, which restaurateur Fabrizio Saba opened in 2007 and which he will run in Hexham alongside his son and daughter. Planning permission for the change of use was granted by Northumberland County Council, with a ground-floor restaurant and bar plus a mezzanine level.

The menu is expected to follow the family's Ponteland kitchen, with wood-fired pizza, pasta and Sardinian specialities, drawing on Saba's more than thirty years of restaurant experience in Italy and the UK. Opening hours are planned at 10am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. As details were confirmed at the planning stage, prospective diners should check ahead for the opening date and menu before travelling.
