About Studio K Dance Hexham
Studio K Dance is a town-centre dance studio at Tanners House on Gilesgate, next to the Tannery pub at the bottom of the street, where former ground-floor offices have been converted into dance space. It was founded by Kay Sams, who had taught dance in Hexham for many years alongside a colleague at the long-established Terpsichore studio; when that school closed, she opened Studio K to keep those opportunities going and let students learn more than one style of dance under one roof.
The studio teaches a broad range of styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, cheerleading and commercial street dance. Kay holds a BTEC National Diploma in Dance and is qualified with the British Cheerleading Association, and the studio also offers studio hire and private lessons. Across the year it stages recitals, competitions and workshops for its dancers.
