About Acomb Methodist Church

Acomb Methodist Church is a Methodist place of worship serving the village of Acomb, just north of Hexham. The Grade II listed chapel on Morrison Terrace was built in 1871, originally as a Primitive Methodist Chapel, and its Victorian character is evident in its snecked-stone construction with rusticated quoins and window surrounds, its gabled front and its gabled brick porch flanked by small-paned sash windows. A panel above the porch is inscribed with the words Primitive Methodist Chapel and the date of building, and an older brick schoolroom stands adjacent to the church.

The church is part of the Tynedale Methodist Circuit and remains an active place of worship within the local Methodist community, providing a focus for faith and fellowship in the village of Acomb.
