Hexham Farmers' Market is a long-established fixture on the town's calendar, bringing together producers from within a 50-mile radius to sell fresh, seasonal and locally made food and drink. Stalls typically feature meat, cheese, bread, honey, preserves, seasonal vegetables and festive treats, all set out in the heart of Hexham's historic Market Place. The market runs on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, with the December dates falling on Saturday 12 and Saturday 19. The usual hours are 9am to 1.30pm, though when the market coincides with the town's wider Christmas activity it can run later into the afternoon. Parking is available at the nearby Wentworth car park (NE46 3PD), a short but fairly steep walk up to the Market Place. Entry to the market is free, making it an easy and enjoyable stop for festive food shopping in the run-up to Christmas.
