About Hallbarns Bed & Breakfast
Hallbarns Bed & Breakfast is a family-run guest house set on a working farm at Simonburn, in the quiet countryside north of Hexham and only about a mile from Hadrian's Wall. The detached farmhouse has been refurbished to offer three en-suite letting rooms, including twin rooms and a family room, with a comfortable guest sitting room warmed by a log fire in winter and gardens with open views across the Northumberland hills. Packed lunches and evening meals can be arranged in advance, making it a practical base for walkers on the Wall as well as visitors touring Tynedale and Kielder.
The B&B is well regarded for the warmth of its welcome and the quality of its breakfasts, and in 2026 it was named among just one hundred accommodation businesses across the country to receive a VisitEngland ROSE Award, which recognises exceptional customer service. Simonburn itself is a pretty conservation village with a tearoom and green, and Hallbarns makes an easy starting point for exploring the Roman Wall, the North Tyne valley and Kielder Water and Forest Park.
