Tales from the Gaol: Artist's Open Studio
Drop in to meet artist Jonny Hannah at the Moot Hall and preview the artwork he is making for the reimagined Hexham Old Gaol.
About This Event
A free drop-in afternoon to meet artist Jonny Hannah, preview work created for the reimagined Hexham Old Gaol exhibition and hear the stories behind it. His pieces will go on show alongside work by prisoners from HMP Northumberland when the Gaol reopens in April 2027, a project supported by Art Fund, Historic England, the Linder Foundation and Arts Council England. As a Halloween extra, volunteers can take part in filming linked to the Hexham Riot of 1761, footage that will help promote the wider project.
