About This Event

In this half-term drop-off session, young writers build an imaginary world from scratch: drawing its map, naming its rivers, filling it with characters and creatures, and then writing the opening of a story set there. No writing experience is needed and everyone takes home something they have made. Parents and carers do not need to stay. The workshop is led by Dr Louise Logan-Smith, a poet, fiction writer and creative writing tutor at Teesside University, who was recently Reader in Residence with Crossing the Tees Book Festival and Darlington Libraries for the National Year of Reading 2026.
