Free Enterprise Festival Day for Small Businesses Near Hexham on 10 November

Small business owners in Hexham and the Tyne valley have a free day of training and networking close to home this month. The Northumberland Enterprise Festival is back for its third year, and its west Northumberland day is at Brocksbushes Farm, near Stocksfield, on Tuesday 10 November.

• Venue: Brocksbushes Farm, Stocksfield, NE43 7UB
• Cost: free

Brocksbushes is just outside Corbridge, a short drive from Hexham. Two more festival days follow that week: Wednesday 11 November at the Rivergreen Centre in Stannington, near Morpeth, and Thursday 12 November at Charlton Hall, near Alnwick.

What is on the programme

This year's theme is "Know Your Business", in four strands:

• Know Your Market
• Know Your Numbers: costing, pricing, cash flow and basic accountancy.
• Know Yourself: confidence, resilience, networking and dealing with imposter syndrome.
• Know Your Responsibilities: tax, insurance, GDPR and record keeping.

The festival days are listed as members only. In practice that means registering with the Northumberland Small Business Service first, which involves a short eligibility check. The service's support is free. You can also email business@businessnorthumberland.co.uk.

Who is behind it

The festival is led by the Northumberland Small Business Service, with Northumberland County Council as lead delivery partner. It is fully funded through the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority's Rural Growth Programme and Integrated Settlement. Durham County Council, Gateshead Council, Northumberland National Park Authority, Food and Drink North East and the North East Enterprise Agency are among the supporting partners.
