About This Event

Morpeth Fair Day is one of Northumberland's biggest community celebrations, marking its 40th anniversary in 2026. First held in 1986, it has grown into a major fixture of the North East's summer calendar, drawing over 30,000 visitors to the market town each year. The tradition of fairs in Morpeth stretches back much further — the town was granted its original market charter by King John in 1199. Set in the scenic Stanners riverside area, the day features live music, a buzzing food quarter, a vintage car and bike procession, Harley Davidson displays, a charity dog show, a Junior Fun Run, street performers, and free children's activities. Local crafts and artisan products fill the stalls, and the Mayor opens proceedings at 10am. It is a free, dog-friendly, community-led celebration and one of the highlights of the Northumberland events calendar.
