About This Event

Young Emil is sent by his mother on a train to Berlin with money to deliver to his grandmother. When the cash is stolen by a mysterious man in a bowler hat, Emil teams up with his spirited cousin and a gang of streetwise city children in a breathless chase across 1920s Berlin. This adaptation of Erich Kästner's beloved 1929 novel brings all the excitement, humour, and heart of the original story to the Queen's Hall stage. It's a tale of courage, friendship, and standing up for what's right — perfect for families with children aged 8 and above. The show runs for three nights at the Queen's Hall, Hexham's intimate arts centre on Beaumont Street. Tickets from £12.
